The launch session will take place at 3:00 p.m. at the Pocinho High Performance Centre in Vila Nova de Foz Côa.
The CCDR-NORTE and the Municipality of Vila Nova de Foz Côa, in partnership with the Portuguese Order of Architects – Northern Regional Section, the Northern Regional Directorate for Culture, and the Porto and North Regional Tourism Board, will host the launch event for the new edition of the Douro Architecture Award on 7 March, at 3:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Pocinho High Performance Centre, in Vila Nova de Foz Côa.
The event will be attended by António Cunha, President of CCDR-NORTE, and João Paulo Sousa, Mayor of Vila Nova de Foz Côa, together with Laura Castro, Northern Regional Director for Culture, Luís Pedro Martins, President of Porto and North Tourism, António Belém Lima, Architect, and Conceição Melo, President of the Portuguese Order of Architects – Northern Regional Section. They will take part in a discussion entitled "The Importance of Architecture for the Heritage and Tourism of the Douro", moderated by Aida Carvalho, President of the Côa Parque Foundation.
The Douro Architecture Award celebrates its 7th edition in 2022 and forms part of the official programme marking the 20th Anniversary of the Alto Douro Wine Region as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
